Under the supervision of the COO, the Human Resources (HR) Generalist is responsible for supporting the effective operations and processes of the HR Department.  This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas:  benefits administration, training, performance management, onboarding, recruitment/employment, and employment law compliance.  The HR Generalist is expected to maintain confidentiality of all employee issues to the extent allowed under applicable law and ethical standards established for HR professionals.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Maintains all employee records and files in accordance with all applicable federal, state and local laws
  • Responsible for all data management into HRIS system.
  • Maintains staff directory and organization chart.
  • Posts openings on HRIS and requested external sites.
  • Completes pre-screen interviews with prospective employees and schedule interviews.
  • Conducts meetings with newly hired employees to ensure the accurate completion and processing of the pre-employment requirements, review of policies, and enrollment in benefits.
  • Assists with job description development.
  • Handles the day-to-day administration of benefits for new hires, terminations, and any employee changes.
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned by supervisor.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum Associate's degree
  • Minimum 2 years HR experience, preferably in recruiting
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be organized and detail oriented
  • Excellent computing skills (Outlook, Excel, Word)
  • Clearance of background check and drug screen
